And we just ran out of time in that class. Brush Magic for Pattern Building: Hi guys, welcome to less than three. As I was putting my slides together on PowerPoint and thinking about what I would say, and try to explain how I loved to create these beautiful shapes with liposuction, and kind of share my passion—and then it all came raining down on me! I'll see you soon. To do that, I like using offset path rather than just stroking the power. We could actually do it in black. And actually I can see here that a lot of these are double lines. So that's one of the reasons why we're expanding everything here. And I'm going to drag them onto the tuple key icon, can hide and actually lock everything else just to be sure. I'm so excited to be here, teaching what I love! So that's another option. Someone else's spent a lot of time figuring out this pattern here. Or you could go to the actual color books like pound tone and bringing in a whole pound tone catalog. Ogee Lipo is a concept I developed over ten years ago and it has completely changed how I perform liposuction and my BBLs. Well, let's try one of these. Quatrefoil Using Offset Path and More: So I just want to show you how to create a quantifoil pattern using our template. For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. Of course, you're going to reorder that, you know, go to in completely the wrong layer. So I'll do that in the next lesson. And yeah, I'm not kidding, you bet is how easy it is incremented. And I'm thinking what I might want to try to do is something like this where we have a little bit of a fill in behind here, or at least some sections of fill. And what that does is that gives us that same kind of edge as this one does here. Alright, I'll see you in the next lesson. It's not moving at increments fast enough for me. And you can tab but between these boxes here so we could keep it at three and maybe let's do six, go 3636. I don't, because it slows down my illustrator while I'm working in there. We will work with many different Illustrator functions. And so we're ready now to add our little flail delete. I'm going to line it up to the art board. So now I should have two separate halves that I can build. And in case you're wondering, I have this question because I've been working with Roman Ogees, which are in their most basic description two quarter circles joined at their ends and mirrored like an ess. So this may be something that we're going to have to do with the pen tool. I've selected this corner and he grabbed the recolor tool here. I think that's quite lovely and we don't even really need to be looking at these other tiles here is we're going to do exactly what we did in the last lesson where we're just going to extract this corner. Good luck and be sure to post your work. I did only the three that I needed. One would think that if you have two 1" squares that abut, one should be able to convert one of the abutting sides to curves and drag the nodes to the corner nodes of the adjoining square and the resulting shape would be a square with a perfectly semicircular side, the radius of the semicircle being 1/2". I really enjoyed working with my hands and see the fruits of my labor (pun intended). My wife an I had bought a small 2 bedroom house built in 1954 with a small back yard and a small front yard. In this class, we're going to really add a lot of detail to that original S curve or Z that we did in the flip-flop pattern class. Remember that these are brushstrokes. It's just something I came up with and thought I wanted to just experiment and see how that would look when I do extract my pattern tile. You can see how easily you could develop collections around something like this, just based on these colors, you could have two completely different color waves with two complete sets of coordinates and have an awesome collection to offer up for licensing. What that does is it gives me two squares to add interest and my patterns. And I'm going to show you those two things in the upcoming lessons. I owe a lot to the Ogee line and to all those that helped formulate my thoughts. This template, it has just been so valuable for me. And then this layer three and layer four here are just kinda open layer so that I can work with if I don't want something in the transformation. In this lesson, we will mess around with the initial s-curve to explore the effects it has on the over-all shape. And let's continue to make our adjustments. And it's actually coming up with philos setting that I had to take it down to about 0.5. And remember I mentioned earlier on that a pattern cannot be used to make a pattern. So I'm gonna do is I'm going to hit open here. So I've got them both selected here. And I think that's going to give us a pretty cool effect. So my gosh, I could play with this particular technique all day long. So let's give that a little bit of a test run. My name is Lawrence Mass Grant. But I just want to just really quickly show you changes that we can make just with the curve itself to affect the shape of it. And you'll see this is my inspiration piece that we're going to go. I know how to make a semicircle (there are many ways). 5. I'm just going to move that over manually, like having just like a hair. So you can, you could make it thicker. I've been using it at all. Lesson 8: Extracting The Pattern and Color Fun. Sludge. Alright, I'll meet you in the wrap up. So the first thing I want to do is review the one that I just showed you and how I went about creating it. Hit the Preview button to see it again, or to see what you're going to have. I can see myself definitely developing collection around them. I just thought it didn’t look right, but I couldn’t figure out why. And then we do some fun stuff with color ways. So I'm going to make alterations to this one. As such, the views expressed in this site are those of the participants and do not necessarily reflect the views of Corel Corporation, or its affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents. Cooperative my black, oops. You can save a copy of the squash and call it polka dot shaft draw for whatever to help you remember, click OK. Otherwise, illustrator won't allow us to make this into a patterns. So I'm going to drag it down in here so that it's in behind. Just a whole bunch of customization already. It's a double line so I can get rid of it. So let's try just guessing ten millimeters, a little bit too much, eight millimeters. Or if you select the whole line, you'll see that it comes up here in the control bar. I was excited to begin my plastic surgery training, but the workload and the North Carolina hard clay prevented me from gardening. You can see what I did here. I didn’t really understand it though, all of these ideas were still sort of floating around in my head—nothing congealed yet. So you can see there that there is a lot of overlap over that S curve. So maybe off camera. And I think I'm going to change this to type any measurement in here. Move … So basically what this starter quantifoil pattern, there's often some form of leaves. I need to now also change this brush because I realized that what I need is for it to be papered on the one side and then actually wider here to connect to the reflection of itself to create these long main strokes. And I'm going to see here how I want this to tuck into that clipping mask. So I've got some here that I want to show you that we are going to try to work on some of the ideas anyways, these are all different versions of 0G patterns, just basically using the template in different ways. I'm gonna work on my brushes layer so as to not disturb my transformation. It's a new color, so I'm going to drag it. Two different ways to basically achieve the same thing. I want my patients to understand why I do what I do. Let's go even a little bit darker. And I think I might adjust the color palette for some added interest here I'm going to do something kind of different. It's never what they expect and it's always just a real eye-opening experience for me. 7. All right. Or maybe some comments in the discussion section. I have here of a dash. Concepts covered include but are not limited to Illustrator template, transform effects, clipping masks, rotation and reflection effects, mockups, expanding shapes and lines, adding points, subtracting points, persistence, making Illustrator brushes, Illustrator pattern brushes, importing brush libraries, layering brush strokes, templates in illustrator, live transformations, color motif ideas. Could a drag the whole thing into the Swatches palette. So I think that's probably pretty close. In the next lesson, what we're gonna do is we're going to extract the patterns in it. So I've got it selected here. There are curves, and he showed us all these photos of work he had done, and showed these sweeping curves, S-shapes he called them”. Both yourself and The Sign Guy have misunderstood my question. I'm just going to use divide. We do lots of work throughout. Yeah. Are you ready to get started? It was a well written article, made sense to me but I never really thought much more about it until one Sunday afternoon my wife and I were sitting on our porch. As it turned out I really enjoyed the gardening; it was a large yard, but it became fun and an outlet for me.
